Who is Devan Ibiza ?

Growing up in the Bronx as a Puerto Rican kid allows you to tap into many cultures and sounds. For Devan, this was no different as he embodies a mixture of soul, hip hop and reggaeton music. He first entered the public eye at the age of 11, when he caught the attention of the creators of Emulator Pro, the DJ software program controlled by multi-touch screens. With his music abilities on the rise, he was re-born Devan Ibiza for the Latin DJ mecca, the Spanish island of Ibiza. From small parties to baby showers, Devan grew to perform at venues like Madison Square Garden for both the New York Knicks and New York Liberty as well as Intel ISEF 2012. Over the years, Devan has exhibited his art through his own projects whether that be through his collaboration with artists like Steve Gunna and his sister Mia Lailani, creating beats for other artists or as an artist himself. Through his music, you can hear the inspiration jump from the different generations of Michael Jackson and Kanye West. He pays respect to musical artists and their work by making covers alongside his sister Mia Lailani in which he shares on social media. He also creates unique content where he creates beats out of distinct and unusual sounds that can be found in places like your kitchen, the bodega and even the subway. Devan’s show “Dev’s Basement” was created right in his studio basement as he wanted to showcase the skills of other artists while also displaying his own beats. Nonetheless, Devan strives to bring something new to the table as he makes music for all kinds of audiences whether that be through his upcoming beat tape or his sister’s new album. While honoring the greats, Devan aspires to be an innovative artist that will be as respected as those who came before him.
